Can I cancel a donation or contribution to a donor-advised fund?

Because the GoFundMe Giving Fund is a donor-advised fund (DAF), all contributions and donations are considered irrevocable and non-refundable.

Why are contributions and donations irrevocable?

When you make a contribution to your Giving Fund or donate funds from your Giving Fund, you're making a charitable donation to a 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions are irrevocable because:

• You give up custody and control of the funds upon contribution and receive an immediate tax deduction.   
• The funds are legally set aside to support qualified 501(c)(3) public charities.

This is required under IRS regulations for DAFs.
