DAF to DAF transfer: Contribute to your Giving Fund from another donor-advised fund

You can easily transfer funds from any DAF into your GoFundMe Giving Fund account. If you’ve already contributed to your Giving Fund and chosen to invest those funds, any transfers from another DAF will automatically be invested in the portfolio you chose once we receive the transfer. 

DAF transfers can take a few weeks to arrive. While the transfer is processing, it will show as “Pending” within your Fund Activity. When we receive the funds, the funds will now show as available, and you’ll receive an email letting you know the transfer is complete. 

Follow these steps to initiate a DAF transfer to your Giving Fund:

1. Log into your GoFundMe Account
2. Select “Your Giving Fund” from the menu in the top right corner
3. Select “Add funds”
4. Choose “Transfer from another donor-advised fund”
5. Select “Transfer with DAFpay”–GoFundMe will be covering any DAFpay fees
6. Select “Continue” to acknowledge DAFpay’s Terms and Privacy policy
7. Search for or select your DAF provider
8. Log in through your provider portal
9. Choose the amount you’d like to transfer, and select “Transfer”

Please note, contributions from a DAF to DAF transfer aren’t considered tax-deductible, since you will have already received the tax deduction on your contribution to your previous DAF. These contributions will still show on your tax summary, but they’ll be marked “Not tax deductible”.
